==History==

To public knowledge, the Sallie House was constructed some time during the year of 1867 by the owner of the land Michael C. Finney as well as few surrounding properties. The property would change hands multiple times but would always be held by the Finney family until 1947, when Charles H. Finney and wife, Mildred Finney, moved. Since it's construction, the house has had four deaths within its walls. The deaths are assumed to be of natural causes.

After the last Finney to own the house left, the Sallie house sat vacant or was used as rental property until the Hubbard family moved in. While there was not much noticeable activity reported, but the daughter of the couple was observed to ''play'' with her new imaginary friend, Sallie; a friend she had never had before. It is said that the Hubbard daughter would constantly refer to Sallie when being reprimanded by her parents when she was ''alone'' with her parents. The exact time the Hubbard family resided in the house was unknown but it is speculated to be between 1990 and 1992, respectively.

'''The Pickman Family'''
The Pickman family claim to move into the Sallie house on 12/31/1992, newly married Tony Pickman with Debra, who was pregnant at the time. The two were both from Catholic backgrounds with the former having lived in Atchison most of his life. Upon moving in, the couple did not notice the strange happenings that occurred throughout the household such as;

·The household pets reacting to an unseen menace on the ceiling.
·Dogs barking at the nursery window.
·Electrical disturbances with the microwave and stove as if timers were set.
·The ceiling fan would activate while the pair were both on the couch.

The Pickmans would make jokes that there house was just haunted by a spirit, even brushing off electrical disturbances in the coming child's nursery, which was only made worse after the arrival of their child. The Pickmans' son was constantly disturbed in his sleep which kept the parents awake by turning the electrical equipment in the nursery on and off. Even the neighbors took notice of the phenomenon.
