Lady in White 1

The Lady in White.

The Lady in White is a local urban legend told in Hollywood, California.  She is seen on the hill where the Hollywood sign is located. She has a skeletal face and hollow white eyes, and always seen wearing a white dress. For 80 years, many people have reported seeing her.

Identity[]

She is believed to be the ghost of British born actress Peg Entwistle, an actress from the early years of Hollywood.  In 1932, after a bad review from a movie she started in, she climbed to the top of the 'H' in the Hollywood sign and committed suicide. She wrote a letter of apology to her fans.

The suicide note as published read:

"I am afraid, I am a coward. I am sorry for everything. If I had done this a long time ago, it would have saved a lot of pain. P.E."

Now her soul roams the hill where the Hollywood sign is and any visitor who happens to encounter her has since been scared for the rest of their life.
